FAKTOR-FAKTOR PENYEBAB KETERLAMBATAN PENYELESAIAN PROYEK GEDUNG DI KABUPATEN KARANGASEM

In executing a construction project, unintended and unpredicted delays frequently occur. These cause a great lost to both contractors and owners. Therefore, this research aims to identify factors that might influence the delays in finishing the building project in Karangasem Region. Moreover, it also identifies the dominant factors amongst factors resulted. The data collection method used in this research is by distributing questionnaire through surveys. The respondents involved were the contractors whose projects based in Karangasem Region and registered as BPC GAPENSI Karangasem members. This research use quota sampling method that includes thirty respondents from 14 building construction contractors in Karangasem Region. Subsequently, the data from the questionnaire were analyzed using factor analysis.The data analysis result that there are seven factors influencing the delays in finishing the building project based on variant percentage. Those factors include delay in payment and shop drawing (22,275%), unspecified and low supply of materials (15,144%), labor supply (11,368%), design change (8,311%), work method change (7,585%), weakness in scheduling (5,538%), and lastly weakness in work execution (4,905%).
